Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox, New York’s sensational cover band is bringing its signature sounds to NYCB Theater!
Scott Bradlee was born in Long Island in 1981 and is a musician, pianist, and arranger. At the age of 12, he fell in love with jazz after hearing George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. He went on to become a successful performer on the New York jazz scene and was the music director for an interactive, off-Broadway theater experience called Sleep No More. As an exercise for creative inspiration, he then started reworking popular music into different genres and in 2011 he formed Postmodern Jukebox, an ever-evolving and rotating group of musicians producing covers of pop songs in alternate styles (especially jazz, ragtime, and swing). The group made a name for itself with its doo-wop cover of Miley Cyrus's ‘We Can't Stop’, featuring Robyn Adele Anderson and The Tee-Tones. They began putting their videos on YouTube and in a few short years their channel has acquired almost 2 million subscribers with over 470 million views. The group has covered songs by renowned artists like Lady Gaga, The Strokes, Katy Perry, The White Stripes, Meghan Trainor, Lorde, and many artists have publicly appreciated the group's work. The band’s membership has included 70 artists and they’ve gone on tour on four continents.
