Howie Mandel, Canada’s sensational comedian and mutli talented artist is bringing his indelible comedy to NYCB Theater!
Howard Michael "Howie" Mandel was born in Toronto (Ontario) in 1955 and is a comedian, actor, television host, and voice actor. His first display of talent (impersonating a member of the school board) got him expelled from high school and as punishment, he had to sign a construction contract to make an addition to the school building. In 1978, he went on to become the headlining act at Yuk Yuk’s (Canada’s national comedy club chain) in 1978. He honed his craft for many years and began to get mainstream recognition for his role on St. Elsewhere (an American medical drama black comedy television series that originally ran on NBC from October 26, 1982, to May 25, 1988). He then became the host of NBC game show Deal or No Deal (as well as its daytime and Canadian-English counterparts) and in 2010 he replaced David Hasselhoff as the host of NBC’s reality television series America’s Got Talent. He’s had a stellar career not just in comedy but in TV and film as well and he was featured on Comedy Central’s list of the 100 greatest stand-up comedians of all time. He’s also received stars on both the Hollywood and Canada Walk of Fame.
